NORTHBROOK, Ill. (August 29, 2017) – Northbrook-based Pine Tree, LLC is growing again. Today the retail real estate company announced the hiring of Kevin Forrest as senior property manager for its national shopping center portfolio. Additionally, Pine Tree has hired Xiao Yu as property accountant. Both will be based in Pine Tree’s Northbrook, Illinois office.
A seasoned property management professional, Mr. Forrest brings over 30 years of real estate experience to the company’s property management team. Jennifer Costa, Vice President, Director of Property Management, says, “In addition to his extensive experience in property management, Kevin has the discipline, dedication, resourcefulness and customer-service focus that Pine Tree strives to give its stakeholders across its national portfolio of shopping centers.”
Before joining Pine Tree, the 57-year-old Forrest was portfolio manager for Cushman & Wakefield in Rosemont, Ill., where he managed a portfolio of Class A & B suburban office properties in the Chicago area. He holds BA and MBA degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A resident of Deerfield, Ill., Forrest currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Family Service of Lake County and is an avid basketball fan and travel enthusiast.
Ms. Yu, 22, comes to Pine Tree after serving as a tax intern for ACG Certified Public Accountants in Pleasanton, Calif. She also interned with Sunshine Asset Management Corporation Limited, located in Beijing, China, where she helped facilitate audit walkthroughs, documented transaction details and organized supporting documents.

Yu is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned both her BS in Accountancy and Master of Accounting with a Science-Tax concentration. She is a resident of Wheeling, Ill.
